Below are photos of my cherrywood gourd banjo that has already been sold. It has a 12" diameter gourd, which is larger than most gourd banjos, which brings out a lot of deep tones and it sounds great with lower tunings as well as typical open-G and open-C tunings. The goat skin head is glued and tacked on. The tailpiece is leather with deer antler, which is nice because the curve of the antler fits on your thigh and holds the banjo in place when playing. (Gourds are slick and can slide around on your lap. I carved the nut from the deer antler also. I carved the cherrwood neck with a sharp pocket knife. The tuners are geared which makes for easier tuning than friction pegs.
